Ask Claude about your Meta Ads spend

Ads Manager is built for someone running campaigns all day, and most people running a small business or a handful of client accounts are not that person. They want three numbers a week and an answer about whether anything is on fire. A meta ads mcp connector turns that into a sentence: you ask what you spent and what it produced, and the assistant pulls the campaign rows, does the division, and tells you which line item is the problem — without a saved report or a column set to configure first.

The connector URL

https://api.mevnix.com/mcp

The same URL for every source. Add it once in Claude; it carries whichever accounts you have connected.

Three levels, and the one you should usually ask about

Meta reporting is a hierarchy: campaigns hold ad sets, ad sets hold ads. Mevnix has tools for all three plus a spend summary, an audience breakdown, a campaign-against-campaign comparison and a period comparison. The useful habit is to start at the ad set. Campaign totals hide the fact that one audience is carrying the result and another is quietly spending, and ad-level numbers fragment across creatives so thin that nothing is significant. Ad sets are where targeting decisions actually live, which makes them the level where the answer usually is. The audience breakdown is the one to reach for when the aggregate looks fine and the result does not — age, gender, placement and country, where a single bad placement often explains the whole gap.

It cannot spend your money

Mevnix asks Meta for ads_read and nothing else. Pausing a campaign, changing a budget, editing targeting and publishing a creative are all outside what the permission allows, so they are not decisions an assistant can make on your behalf by misunderstanding a sentence. This is a real difference from the facebook ads mcp servers that ask for ads_management, including Meta's own, which is built to let an agent run the account. Both are legitimate products; they are answers to different questions. If what you want is a second opinion on the numbers rather than an agent with a credit card, the narrower permission is the point rather than a limitation.

Spend is the number that needs company

Cost per result inside Ads Manager is cost per whatever Meta counted, and Meta counts generously — view-through conversions, a seven-day click window, its own attribution. That is why the ads number and the analytics number never match and why arguing about which is right wastes an afternoon. The useful move is to stop reconciling and start comparing directions: put the meta ads mcp data next to GA4 sessions and Search Console impressions for the same fortnight and ask whether they moved together. Mevnix carries all three in one connector and files them per client, so that is one question rather than three exports and a spreadsheet.

Setting it up

  1. Connect Meta

Sign in to Mevnix and connect Meta. The consent screen asks for ads_read; you then choose which ad accounts to expose, and the rest stay invisible.

  2. Add the connector to Claude

Add the Mevnix URL as a custom connector in Claude and approve it. This is the meta ads mcp url people search for — it is the same one for every source, because it is one connector rather than one per platform.

  3. Ask about spend

Start with the spend summary for a period you remember, so you can sanity-check the total against Ads Manager once and then stop opening Ads Manager.

Questions

What is the Meta Ads MCP URL?
The same connector URL as every other Mevnix source — you add it once and it carries whichever accounts you have connected. It is shown above and on the docs page, and it needs you to sign in and authorize before it returns anything.
Can it pause a campaign or change a budget?
No. We hold ads_read only. Write access is on the roadmap and would need a separate Meta App Review and a separate permission you granted deliberately — it will never be a silent upgrade of a grant you have already given.
Does it cover Instagram?
Paid placements on Instagram, yes — they are part of Meta Ads and appear in the placement breakdown. Organic Instagram and Facebook Page insights are separate permissions still in review, and are listed as coming rather than pretended to work.
How current are the numbers?
Responses are cached for thirty minutes. Meta itself keeps adjusting the last few days as conversions attribute late, so a figure for yesterday is provisional whichever tool you read it in.
Can it read more than one ad account?
Yes, and this is the case the product is built around. Expose as many as you like on Pro and file them under clients, so an agency running twelve businesses gets twelve separate answers rather than one blended total. When several accounts are connected the tools ask which you mean instead of picking, because attributing one customer's spend to another is a worse failure than an extra question.
What about currency and time zones?
Figures come back in whatever currency and time zone the ad account itself is set to, unconverted. If you run accounts in two currencies, totalling them needs a rate the ads API does not supply, so ask for them separately rather than trusting a sum across both.
Which attribution window does it use?
Whatever the ad account is configured for — we do not override it. That matters when comparing against analytics, because Meta's default counts a conversion within seven days of a click and one day of a view, and almost nothing else on the internet counts it that way.
